Toledo, OH (AHN) - Rev. Robert Yeager, a retired Roman Catholic priest was fired after his diocese confirmed allegations that he abused a boy thirty years ago, the AP reported Wednesday.

The Diocese of Toledo got wind of the alleged abuse back in 2004. Its board did not have enough information to confirm the offense then. His lawyer has been in close talks with the diocese, although she has not specified whether she will take a legal action.

Yeager who retired last year helped the diocese in its fundraising initiatives. His assistance helped the diocese to succeed in its $60 million capital improvement campaign.

The deposed priest is the executive director of Diocesan Fiscal Management Conference, an independent consulting firm that aids dioceses across the U.S. to manage their financial resources.
